                 MUSIC MONDAYS

Hey guys, happy music mondays! This week I’m sharing a song I recorded with doug white at Watchmen studios. Which if you are a local band around the upstate area and thinking about making a demo, you should definitely go to dougHe’s got a nice little studio in Lockport, NY, and it’s where i recorded my entire first album and 21 other demos, and they always come out amazing for the convenience and price when he’s behind the board. This weeks song is called Sunshine pt. II. It’s a song I wrote when I was like 14, but it wasn’t until I was 19 that I realized what a good song that would be to do in the studio. This is one of my favorite recordings doug and I have done, I hope you enjoy it. This one is actually finished so at least you guys can hear a whole song this time haha alright gotta get back to this new song i’m working on, peeeeaace…

WE CAN WASTE AWAY

yoooooooo music mondays should be called music tuesdays i guess, as i am aware my time management skills suck…or you could call just call me fashionably late to be nice. here’s the song for the week, keep in mind these songs will usually be short, as they are unfinished. i typically write songs too often to make a full demo, so i just get a basic idea recorded and move on. This ones called  ”Waste Away.” Anyway, I wanna share a funny story with you guys. The other day I walked outside on a beautiful spring day to hear a hear bird singing a melody. It was just a few notes, but it sparked an idea. I ran inside and grabbed my guitar, and started repeating the melody to the bird while playing my guitar. yeah i know, i’m a little crazy. the crazier thing, was that the bird started singing the melody on beat to the song! so in about ten minutes i had written a song i’m really excited about and hopefully can share with you next week, my background singer being a little bird. isn’t life funny? i just hope i don’t end up in court with the bird saying i stole his melody. i dont think he has a case, but i’m thankful for the inspiration. anyway, keep spreading the music and love peeeeace:)

hey guys if you haven’t checked out what have we done’s video yet, please do: http://youtu.be/vGOy33Hjz6U my brother and i are working on a music video for the song sunshine off of beautiful tragedy. i took a stop at the local liquor store as an excuse to celebrate cinco de mayo, it was funny all the alcohol was stocked full except for the tequila, which was wiped clean. only a couple bottles remained. i never drank a whole beer in my life, think it tastes terrible. tequila is the only thing that’s ever warmed my stomach. a little bit of fun here and there gets ya through the day i suppose. and music, friends, family, and love. happy cinco de mayo my friends. true to the occasion i am sharing one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands, CAKE. enjoy:)

music mondays

I know I said I would put up a song every monday, I was truthfully hoping to put up a new song along with a low budget music video me and my brother are putting together, but couldn’t finish editing in time. Should have the video up soon, but anyways here’s the song. It’s called What Have We Done, and it was originally set to be on the album. Unfortunately, it probably won’t make the final cut, but I can share the original demo i made in my room that inspired  Infamous and I to work on it.

This is the live music video for “The Butterfly Song,” a song I wrote with the talented Jessica Neilon who performs alongside me in this video. Video done by Gary Ventura. The story behind this song is i was with Jessica and she was skipping around singing “I wanna be a butterfly and float so high.” She sang in not the way she sings in the video, very casual and childlike. But i told her to stop and i grabbed my guitar and said we’re writing a song. She said “OK” and ten minutes later it was done. Enjoy.

Here’s one of my favorite pictures my brother took of me. My brother’s always been a very creative photographer, both in his shooting and editing techniques. He’s photographed a lot of beautiful weddings and done some important band photography for artists such as Gym Class Heroes. The other photograph is one of my favorite weddings pictured he did. You should check out his website, there’s a lot of great photography there. www.garyventura.com We are planning on working on some new photography and music videos for your entertainment. So stay tuned:)

poem.

There’s a place in my heart where the pain starts
to get hard and I part from the the part of me scarred
to go far from the stars that have fallen apart
to make amends with the sharp end of a blade’s scar
left on the skin of my invisible self
that part thats within, my spiritual health
‘Cause i’m here to get help from the fears that I felt
and the tears that I spilt
As i fell from here, hell came clear as bell
Ringing me awake as I cling to what’s making me
Shake in fear vacantly awaiting my fate.
Scared sober I guess, when there’s nowhere to step
You look back and retrace what you love the best
And you find the whole time you were chasing a ghost
That never was real, but will always be close…

Check out this video of me playing a little bit of Strawberry Soda on the piano. The song was on my first album, and it will be on Grandiose Simplicity, the upcoming release. It sounds way cooler now though guys, no disappointments guaranteed. I’m declaring mondays “Music Mondays,” where I will upload a brand new song you guys haven’t heard. We’re also working on a short music video for song that almost made the album. Keep spreading the word!
